The East-Westbound Terminal & Public Market, which has been renamed the Farmers Market & Transport Terminal (FMTT), has experienced a significant boost in its income for 2024, according to Allan A. Fernandez, the Branch Manager of the City Economic Enterprises & Business Development The total revenue generated by the FMTT for 2024 reached Php 34,973,155.40, marking an increase over the previous year’s income of Php 28,773,958.88. This represents a notable growth of Php 6,199,196.52.
Fernandez attributed the steady rise in monthly collections throughout the year to the diligent efforts of the CEEBDA team, who worked to ensure the collection of required payments from both the market and transport terminal. The consistent growth in revenue highlights the continuing economic development of the city, which is being driven by the leadership of Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' Uy. The FMTT office, under Fernandez’s leadership, remains focused on maintaining transparency and accountability in its financial operations. At the same time, it continues to address the increasing demands of both the market and terminal, ensuring that they a are adequately supported to meet the needs of the growing community. This growth in revenue reflects the ongoing efforts to enhance services and infrastructure, benefiting both the local economy and the residents of the city. The office is also working on improving facilities and expanding services to provide better access and convenience for both vendors and customers. Plans are in place to implement more sustainable practices, such as waste reduction and energy efficiency, to further contribute to the city's environmental goals.
