March18, 2025, Cagayan de Oro City_"By not disclosing the fact that his father is running for mayor in his hometown of Sugbongcogon, Brigadier General Michele Anayron, Jr. manifested dishonesty when he assumed as Commanding General of the 4th Infantry Diamond Division,"said Bangon Mis. Or. legal counsel Angel Lim.
Attorney Lim added that General Anayron's appointment as Division Chief falls within the Comelec's election period which prohibits the appointment of government officials to key positions if these functionaries have relatives gunning for elective posts in the midterm polls in May..
"The election period began January 9, this year, and Anayron's promotion came after this date. To say that he allegedly earned this position is unacceptable, especially that Anayron is allegedly close to some politicians in Misamis Oriental," bewailed Lim.
"As an officer and a gentleman, General Anayron should be impartial, especially since he is a member of the Regional Peace and Order Council and Army personnel, aside from their sworn duties as defenders against internal and external threats, are being deputized by the Comelec to ensure honest, orderly and peaceful elections", disclosed lawyer Lim.
Lim also said that should General Anayron be transferred, his salary and rank will remain. Lim, who ran for and lost as Provincial board member in 2022, reported that the Bangon Mis. Or. party, led by former 2nd District Congresswoman Juliette Uy, has filed a complaint before the Ombudsman against Anayron for dishonesty and for non-disclosure.
General Anayron has yet to comment as of press time.
