Malaybalay City, January 27, 2025 — Brigadier General Michele Anayron is set to officially assume command of the 4th Infantry Division (4thID) this coming Tuesday, following the retirement of Major General Jose Maria Cuerpo II on January 17. Anayron will take over from Brigadier General Consolato Tecla, who has been serving as the Acting Division Commander since Cuerpo’s retirement.
Anayron’s appointment comes at a crucial time, as the 4thID plays a significant role in ensuring the safety and security of Mindanao. His leadership transition is seen as a major milestone for the division, which has been at the forefront of the military’s efforts to maintain peace and order in the region. As the new commander, Anayron is expected to continue strengthening the division’s operations, which are vital for securing Mindanao from various threats, including insurgency and other forms of violence. Currently stationed at the 403rd Brigade in Malaybalay City, Anayron hails from Sugbongcogon, Misamis Oriental. He is a distinguished graduate of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) "Tanglaw Diwa" class of 1992, which is known for producing some of the country’s top military leaders. With decades of experience in the Armed Forces, Anayron has built a reputation for his leadership, strategic insights, and commitment to public service. His long and varied military career has equipped him with the skills needed to lead the 4thID through ongoing challenges in securing Mindanao.
The appointment of Anayron signals a new chapter for the 4thID, as the division continues to evolve and respond to the complex security challenges facing the region.
