Match 39, 2025, Cagayan de Oro City_"There must be a streamlining of data of senior citizens for a fully comprehensive response to their needs", thus declared Attorney Oscar Moreno Sunday as he met with the elderly in Barangay Bulua, this city.

Moreno, who is seeking a comeback as city mayor in the midterm elections this May, said that a unified database is important for the local government unit to effectively respond to the needs of this underrepresented sector.

Attorney Moreno noted that during his three-term tenure as CdO's local chief executive, there was no discrimination in issuing identification cards. He added that a unified system in registration of seniors should be prioritized so that basic needs such as medical treatment, maintenance medicine, financial, funeral, and burial assistance could be promptly addressed.

Moreno also lamented the alleged discrimination in the accommodation of this sector even as he emphasized that political colors should be set aside.

Present during Moreno's dialogue with the Bulua elderly was his daughter, relectionist councilor Imee Moreno and Councilor Yvy Emano who is the chairperson of the city council's committee on senior citizens.
