A suspected motornapper was arrested in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, on January 30 after police seized an improvised pistol from him. The 21-year-old suspect faces charges for violating the Anti-Carnapping Act, the Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and the Omnibus Election Gun Ban.
The arrest followed a report from a 19-year-old woman whose motorcycle was stolen at gunpoint. Authorities recovered the stolen motorcycle, but the suspect’s accomplice escaped, and a manhunt is ongoing. PRO-10 Director Brig. Gen. Jaysen C. de Guzman commended the swift response by local police, emphasizing their continued efforts to uphold the law, especially during the election period. Navarro urged the public to report any suspicious activity to the police.
