February 2025_Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines – Northern Mindanao’s first public electric vehicle (EV) charging station, powered entirely by solar energy, is now open and available at the Oro Chamber Business Development Centre. This pioneering facility is accessible 24/7 and free of charge, marking a significant step toward sustainable mobility in Mindanao region.
With EV adoption on the rise nationwide, the need for accessible charging infrastructure has become more pressing. Until now, most EV charging stations have been limited to private residences and secured office facilities. This public initiative is a game-changer, setting a new standard for clean, renewable-powered transportation solutions in Mindanao.
“The Oro Chamber of Commerce is honored to be part of this milestone initiative, providing a valuable service to our chamber members, visitors, and the general public,” said Engr. Avalyn Cahulogan, Immediate Past Chamber President. “This initiative underscores our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.”
The project is spearheaded by Greenergy PH, a leader in renewable energy and clean mobility solutions, through its subsidiaries, Greenergy Solar and Greenergy Mobility. The facility serves as a model for the future of electric transport, demonstrating how solar energy can seamlessly power EVs.
