Opol Mayor Bago Cites Admin Gains in SOMA

Opol, Misamis Oriental, July 27,2024_ Mayor Jay Francis Bago today outlined his administration's gains in his State of the Municipality Address Saturday.
Highlighted during his speech were the various projects that have been completed, ongoing, and planned projects for his constituents. Prominently mentioned amongst these accomplishments were the water systems improvement works that greatly benefitted Opolanons who have long suffered the lack of potable and dependable water supply. Recently, Barangay Taboc residents witnessed the water flushing and improvement of their service lines.
Mayor Bago also reported on completed cementing of roads in his municipality, especially in far-flung barangays. He added that more road concreting projects are lined up, and these will be complemented with drainage systems.
Bago also took pride in the various awards that his locality won, especially in sports, health, humanitarian endeavours, and good governance. The local chief executive also disclosed the preparedness of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, saying that satellite communications components are in place and have been and are indispensable in times of man-made and natural calamities
. Mayor Bago also showcased the municipal Geographical Information System, which uses drones and aims to provide valuable information to would-be investors and existing developers. Bago added that investing in technology not only enhances connectivity but helps build a more resilient Opol.
