By Mona Lagbas

February 24, 2025, Cagayan de Oro City_Citing alleged violation of Section 26 of the Omnibus Election Code, former Misamis Oriental 2nd District Congresswoman Juliette Uy and 29 other persons are demanding the recall of the appointment of Brigadier General Michele Anayron as Commanding General of the Philippine Army's 4th Infantry Division.

Fearing a repeat of the alleged intervention of soldiers in vote-buying in the May 2022 elections, Gubernatorial candidate Uy said that Anayron's father, Michele Sr., is running for mayor in their hometown of Sugbongcogon and added that the Commanding General allegedly violated the AFP code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice, particularly standard number 3, that members shall effectively disclose all potential and actual conflicts of interest; that such disclosure does not preclude nor imply ethical impropriety.

Submitting a picture of Gen. Anayron, his father Attorney Michele Sr. and incumbent Governor Petern Unabia together, Uy stressed that as members of Unabia's political party, Paglaum, this alleged close association would undermine the conduct of

a free, orderly, honest, peaceful, and credible elections this coming May 12 in Misamis Oriental.
