April 8, 2025, Cagayan de Oro City_In a grassroots huddle with residents of the West Bound terminal in Barangay Bulua Tuesday, former city mayor Oscar Moreno emphasized the urgent need to make CdeO drug-free.

Moreno, describing Cagayan de Oro as a highly urbanized city, said that his vision of the metropolization of the regional capital, which will include some neighboring towns and cities of Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte and Bukidnon, would be hindered because of the current peace and order situation.

Moreno, who is seeking a comeback as local chief executive, said that the future and aspirations of the youth sector will go to naught if the illegal drugs menace prevails in the city.

Moreno, a lawyer by profession, added that he has long been standing against extrajudicial killings even as he hoped that Kagay-anon families' members would no longer be victims of illegal drugs.
