ONCE he gets elected as councilor of Cagayan de Oro City under its second district, educator Dr. Ike Olandesca will focus on alleviating the plight of persons with disabilities and enhancing the education sector.
Holding a doctorate in education and managing his own private basic education school for more than a decade, Olandesca is indeed an expert in the education sector.
During a town hall meeting with persons with disabilities April 4, Olandesca proposed for modular classes for these special students.
He said that added to these modular classes would be socialization sessions at least once a month.

Olandesca has patterned these advocacies from his experience in Little Me Academy where students help their disabled colleagues with their mobility issues.
Aside from being an education expert, Olandesca highly sympathetizes with the PWD sector, which makes him qualified as future chairman of the city council's committee on social welfare and services.
In an emotional remark, Olandesca revealed that he has two disabled siblings - a younger brother who has cerebral palsy and an older brother who had a stroke.
Along this line, as both an educator and PWD champ, Olandesca is also pushing for public education against discrimination and bullying of persons with disabilities.
