A total of P256 million worth of assistance was distributed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the efforts of 1st District Congressman Lordan Suan in the year 2024. Bert Amplayo, the spokesperson of Congressman Suan’s office, revealed that this amount was allocated to various programs such as the AICS (Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation), AKAP, and other livelihood programs initiated by the national government, which were strongly supported by the congressman to provide temporary relief to the people of District 1 who were in need of government support during difficult times. Amplayo further added that these assistance programs were directed by Suan to his district in the past year, significantly helping thousands of residents, including those who were victims of fire, families whose homes were demolished, low-income workers, and unemployed individuals. These efforts were part of the social services functions of his office, which is always ready to serve the people.
