Paglaum Job Fair Hires 157 Job Seekers on the Spot

MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA) – The Paglaum Job Fair, held at Limketkai Center on January 23, successfully hired 157 job seekers on the spot, offering a wealth of employment opportunities. The event featured a total of 5,324 available job openings, with 3,579 positions offered by local companies and 1,743 positions for overseas employment.

Organized by the Province of Misamis Oriental in collaboration with partner organizations and government agencies, the job fair was supported by 64 local companies and five overseas employment agencies. This partnership highlights the province's commitment to addressing unemployment and providing quality job opportunities to its residents. In-demand overseas positions included nurses, caregivers, and skilled workers in countries such as Qatar, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom. The event attracted over 1,000 job seekers, underscoring its success in connecting employers with qualified candidates.

In addition to job opportunities, the fair also offered vital services from several government agencies, including PhilHealth, the Social Security System (SSS), Pag-IBIG, the Philippine National Police (PNP), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) - Misamis Oriental. These agencies provided attendees with information and services, such as job-related documentation and skills development guidance.

The Paglaum Job Fair was a collaborative effort between the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), reflecting the province's ongoing commitment to tackling unemployment and improving livelihoods. Through such initiatives, the province not only connects job seekers with opportunities but also fosters economic growth.
