March 10, 2025, Cagayan de Oro City_Lawyer and senatorial hopeful Luke Espiritu is pushing for a pro-people national budget.
In a press conference Monday at a local hotel, Espiritu said that instead of allocating much for public works projects and "ayuda", Congress should prioritize education in deliberations so that our 'kababayans' can efficiently compete globally and contribute more to the economy.
Espiritu also called substantial budgets for local farmers to boost productivity and reduce poverty.
Espiritu, a staunch labor leader, is running for senator in this year's midterm polls after failing in his bid in 2022.
