The National Day of Remembrance for the Heroic Sacrifice of the SAF 44 serves as a poignant reminder of the unwavering dedication required to secure our nation and the profound sacrifices made by those who protect us. Nine years have passed since the tragic events in Mamasapano, but the memory of the SAF 44 lives on in our hearts and minds. Today, we honor their bravery, their commitment to duty, and their patriotism. Their courage, even in the face of immense peril, embodies the finest qualities of public service and selflessness. As we reflect on their lives and offer our deepest sympathies to their families, let us also recognize the immense challenges faced by our law enforcement and armed forces. The sacrifices of the SAF 44 highlight the daily risks they take to ensure the safety and security of all Filipinos. May the lessons from this heartbreaking chapter in our history guide us in our ongoing efforts to unite, overcome adversity, and build a more secure future for the next generations.
